You never really know what to expect on the red carpet at the MTV Movie Awards, but it's definitely a chance for Hollywood A-listers to show off their more fun and vibrant side. Yesterday, celebrities kept it short and safe with mostly above-the-knee length dresses.

Going in order, Kristen Stewart followed trend with an 80's style mini dress, showing off her long sexy legs.

Kate Beckinsale kept it simple and classy in an off-white turtleneck mini. Charlize Theron also rocked a simple dress, in eye-popping red designed by Lanvin. Followed by Jessica Biel in a (you guessed it!) SHORT white Chanel dress.

In case you forgot your watch, Christina Ricci definitely had the time, her mini dress designed by Christian Siriano for Timex was bedazzled in watch faces. While Nikki Reed went retro in a shiny gold dress by Randi Rahm.

Some stars left their dresses on the racks and tryed something different. Leightoon Meester rocked the short shorts in Christian Cote. While Sheilene Woodley did cropped pants and Elizabeth Banks rocket a jumpsuit by Elie Saab.

My favourite look of the night goes to Julia Jones in Christopher Kane. She definitely stood out the most in a bright yellow dress and brought that WOW factor to the red carpet.
