The Red Bull Music Academy is notorious for its comprehensive exploration of music, materialized in the form of lectures, concerts, workshops, and club nights, all of which are accomplished throughout a unique 5-week experience. Founded in 1998, RBMA is sought out internationally featuring some of Montréal's own musical talents in past editions, including Ango, Lunice, Poirier, and most recently Xavier Leon (one half of Sibian and Faun). As the academy makes its stops at various cities throughout the globe every year, this year's edition will be held in New York City. If you are an interested producer, musician, DJ, instrumentalist, and/or vocalist, you may download an application form from the website and cast in your music portfolio right here

In support of this year's Academy, RBMA will be partnering up with MUTEK in hosting a Canadian tour featuring techno virtuoso Martyn (Brainfeeder/3024) and Toronto's own acclaimed Egyptrixx (Night Slugs/Ramp Recordings). The tour will highlight the academy to potential applicants through session lectures, Q&A, and concert series. Preceding each show is an intimate look at the Academy and its aplication process hosted by mymanhenri. Potential applicants in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and Montréal will get a taste of the Red Bull Music Academy, with an exclusive RBMA session lecture with Egyptrixx and Martyn. Don't forget that the official MUTEK festival lineup in Montréal will be announced six days after the tour wraps up on March 13!
