Introducing three lovely ladies who call themselves Mountain Man. I have been captured by the magical voices of this Vermont based folk-indie band since I saw them touring with one of my personal favourites, Feist, back in December and again in May. And undoubtedly there is something so different, but also captivating about not only their beauty but as well their incandescent voices, and the way they harmonize together is pure biss.
Member (and the sometimes occasional guitarist) Alexandra Sauser-Monning said a really interesting quote in an interview once that I thought sums up the ensemble quite well; she said: “I think it does jolt people to just hear the human voice unaccompanied for the most part.. and I think that it’s a really important thing, for people to experience just the power of the human voice interacting with other human voice. It’s like nothing else that I can think of.”
When listening to them, you can hear all the birds, the trees, the mountains and the raw truth that are behind what the trio outputs. You won’t be the same after listening to them, for sure. So, check out all of the tracks on their album Made the Harbor, you are certain to truly live for it’s entire duration.
